Welcome to Sentinel Online, owned and produced by Sentinel Technologies, Inc. Our websites are available to all visitors, although some content and features are restricted to Sentinel employees or customers. Your privacy is important to us. We provide this notice to explain our online information practices.

Throughout Sentinel Online, there are forms for visitors to request information, products, and services. These forms may ask for contact information (such as your phone number or e-mail address), unique identifiers (usually your employee or customer number, if one is available), financial information (such as your credit card number), or demographic information (for example, your location, etc.). Contact information from these forms is used to provide the products, promotional materials, or services that you request. Forms on our site that request financial information do so in order to bill you for products or services ordered. Unique identifiers (specifically, your employee or customer number) are collected from website visitors to verify the user's identity for access to restricted content or services on the site.

SENTINEL ONLINE WILL UPDATE THIS POLICY FROM TIME TO TIME, SO PLEASE CHECK BACK PERIODICALLY. IF AT ANY POINT WE DECIDE TO USE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION IN A MANNER DIFFERENT FROM THAT STATED AT THE TIME IT WAS COLLECTED, WE WILL PROMINENTLY POST SUCH CHANGES PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTING THEM.

Our goal is to provide information, services, and product offerings that are most relevant to you in the most convenient way. Information collected online is usually defined as being either anonymous or personally identifiable.

Anonymous information refers to data that cannot be tied back to a specific individual. Sentinel does not collect, use, store, or distribute anonymous information.

Personally identifiable information (PII) refers to data that tells us specifically who you are (e.g., your name and Company address). You are only required to provide such information if you want to request information or services provided through our website(s). Sentinel collects PII in the following ways from different parts of its website(s):

    • Sentinel InfoSENter “Information Request Form”: You are sharing PII, including your name, company name and company contact information, with us when you request information regarding our services and/or when you register for Electronic Service Placement (ESP).
    • Online Purchases: We also ask for personal information when you make a purchase through the Online Store.

A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred from a website to the hard drive of your computer. A cookie will not provide PII about you, such as your name and address. The use of cookies is now an industry standard, and cookies are currently used on most major websites. Most web browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can reset your browser to notify you when you have received a cookie. You can also set your browser to refuse to accept cookies altogether. While Sentinel does not require you to use cookies, keep in mind that certain services may not function properly if you set your browser to refuse all cookies.

To help serve you better, Sentinel generally uses only current session cookies when using the ESP system. These session cookies are deleted when you end your session. These cookies are not stored or distributed to third parties.

Data collected through Sentinel's website(s) is generally collected and maintained solely by Sentinel Technologies. More specifically:

Personally identifiable information (PII). When you provide PII on Sentinel Online to register for a service, buy a product, or take request information, that information is collected and maintained solely by Sentinel Technologies. Only the PII you provide to the Sentinel “Store” when ordering Logo wear is collected and maintained by an outside vendor, unless specifically stated otherwise at the point of collection. The outside vendor only stores your contact and a portion of your credit card information to fill your purchase request. If you do not want to share your information with that company, you can choose not to use that service.

Anonymous information. We provide no anonymous or PII is disclosed to other third parties. Be aware that third-party content providers have links on our site(s) that take you to other websites. For example, when you enquire about job openings you are linked to another site. Please note also that links to other websites maybe provided throughout Sentinel Online for users' information and convenience. Sentinel expects that all third parties involved adhere to our policies regarding the privacy of our users. However, Sentinel's Online Privacy Policy does not cover third-party data collection practices, and Sentinel Online does not assume any responsibility for any actions of third parties.

Sentinel collects information to provide you with the services you request. Sentinel may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide information on individual users to the appropriate governmental authorities. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, Sentinel may voluntarily provide information to appropriate governmental authorities.

Sentinel Online has security measures, such as firewalls, in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your user data under our control. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to data will not occur, we take many precautions to prevent such unfortunate occurrences. Any other particularly sensitive information, such as your credit card number, collected for a commerce transaction is encrypted prior to transmission.

You are ultimately responsible for the security of your customer or employee ID and password. You may not share your customer or employee ID and password with colleagues or friends so they can access content or features on Sentinel Online that are restricted to registered Sentinel customers or employees. You should log out of your browser at the end of each computer session to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence, especially if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe.

EU Data Protection Rights

Where the processing of your PII is subject to EU data protection laws, you have the following data subject rights. Please note that these rights are not absolute and in certain cases are subject to conditions as specified in applicable law:

  • Access: you have the right to request information about how we process your PII and to obtain a copy of that PII
  • Rectification: you have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate PII about you and for any incomplete PII about you to be completed
  • Objection: you have the right to object to the processing of your PII, which is based on our legitimate interests (as described above)
  • Erasure: you have the right to request the erasure of your PII (subject to certain conditions)
  • Automated decision-making: you have the right not to have a decision made about you that is based solely on automated processing if that decision produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you
  • Restriction: you have the right to ask us to restrict our processing of your PII, so that we no longer process that information until the restriction is lifted
  • Portability: you have the right to receive your PII, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have that information transmitted to another organization in certain circumstances

In addition to the above, you have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that our processing of your PII infringes applicable data protection law.

Legal Basis for Processing

Our legal basis under EU data protection law for collecting and using your PII as described in this Privacy Statement will depend on the PII concerned and the specific context in which we collect it. In general, we collect and process your PII on one or more of the following bases:

Your consent, where we have obtained your consent to process your personal data for certain activities. You are free to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting [email protected]. If you withdraw your consent, it will not affect the lawfulness of any processing based on your consent before you withdrew it. Where applicable, we may ask for your consent to processing at the point where you provide your PII.

To comply with a contractual obligation (for example, using your shipment details to make delivery where you have bought a product from us or using your personal details where you have asked us to do something before making a purchase, such as providing you with a quote).

For compliance with Sentinel’s legal obligations where other laws require the processing of your PII (for example, health and safety, taxation and anti-money laundering laws) or where we need your PII to protect your vital interests or those of another person.

To serve Sentinel’s (and its business partners’) legitimate interests which include the provision of this website and/or relevant products and services, and/or the carrying out of marketing and profiling activities, provided always that our legitimate interests are not outweighed by any prejudice or harm your rights and freedoms.

California Shine the Light

Residents of the State of California, under California Civil Code § 1798.83, have the right to request from companies conducting business in California a list of all third parties to which the company has disclosed personal information during the preceding year for direct marketing purposes.
